Our approach
Women at the Well aims to provide a service that is:
Trauma informed: we wait, we do not presume, we move at an individual woman’s pace
Holistic: we aim to counter the ‘revolving doors’ that women face when trying to access other services who cannot see her whole story
Woman-centred: we see the structural inequalities that create exclusion, and which drive prostitution and sexual exploitation, and we try to create an alternative.
Our support comes without conditions and without obligation. We aim not to make demands on women, as so many other services do. Our work with women is not time limited. We try to be available as long as women need us.
We also campaign for change at a local, national and international level, looking towards a future where women’s inequality - including the harm of prostitution and sexual exploitation - will end.
