Volunteering is key to the work done at w@w and we wouldn’t be able to offer such a broad range of activities and treatments without the support and commitment of our dedicated volunteers.
Volunteering for w@w can take many forms. All we ask is that you can make a regular time slot so we know when to expect you and can plan ahead. There are many different opportunities for volunteering at w@w including:
- Helping in the kitchen to provide daily hot meals
- Admin work
- Reception work
- Running your own specialist activity or therapy, such as mosaic-making or counselling
- More experienced volunteers may also become involved in client support work
We give each volunteer a full induction, and run a continuous rolling programme of training throughout the year covering topics including drugs awareness, sexual abuse, health & safety. There are monthly group support sessions for volunteers and six-monthly individual supervisions sessions to discuss progress and any support needs or areas of interest to pursue.
